FSU-UNC

Well it's time for one or two things today...

For us to get our yearly storming the court by the students because we beat a Top 5 team or we get beat down in our own house by 20 or more...

What do you think??

Gameday....FSU vs Miami

Hello everyone.

Today (Labor Day) marks the beginning of another season of FSU Football and the annual rivalry of FSU-Miami. With the craziness of this past weekend this game takes on more meaning. This game in the past used to have National Championship implications but both programs have taken a step back in recent years.

Now this game, maybe not having national implications, has the honor of carrying the banner of the ACC. The conference had a horrible week with losses to William and Mary, Richmond, South Carolina and also losses to major powerhouses Cal and Alabama.

Both teams need to look good, regardless of the outcome, to show that the ACC isn't a one team conference. Both teams will have games coming up with programs having a chance at National Championship hopes (BYU for FSU and Oklahoma for UM)

With that being said and looking at the teams I don't see how FSU can lose this game. Miami will be breaking in QB with limited starts on a national stage and FSU should have the edge in the defensive backfield and with the offensive talent.

I can't predict the score but I feel FSU should win by at least 10 but I wouldn't be surprised by 14 or more.

I will give my opinions after the game...

All eyes on GT/Clemson

They determine our match up on Friday in the ACC tourney quarters.

Congrats to Toney Douglas and Leonard Hamilton for their conference accolades - but let's not lose focus now...

To the ACC Tourney..and March Madness!!!

Hello.

I attended Senior Day for the Men's Basketball Team. If I only go to one game a year it's that one. We played a Va Tech team that was fighting for their NCAA lives and fell WAY short of the mark.

I've decided after watching a lot of ACC basketball in the past couple weeks is that we have the worst officiating crews in the NCAA. The Duke-UNC was horribly called and our game was called just as bad. There's one thing for letting the kids play the game but when people are getting mugged on the court and no calls are made that's another thing. I've noticed in the last couple years when Duke gets into the NCAAs that they expect calls that other officiating crews won't give them...the "We're Duke" mantra doesn't work when the SEC or Big 12 calls a game...no wonder they get bounced early.

Anyway, I look forward to our matchup Friday. We'll play the winner of the Ga Tech/Clemson game. I'm hoping for a Ga Tech win because it's really hard to beat a team 3 times in a season..and I just have a feeling we're not going to get calls again...I hate to harp on that subject!!

I'll be scouting the matchups as soon as the Play-in games are completed.

Peace, Love and Thick Blankets!!

What did I tell you about Duke??

Happy Hump Day...

Our Seminoles should be celebrating a victory against Duke, but just like I said...the refs took control of the game when the Devils couldn't. We can debate the Technical Foul on Alabi 'till the cows come home but you cannot deny that was a momentum changer in that game. The "no-calls" against Douglass and Echefu didn't help matters any, but Duke will always get their calls at home and during the ACC Tournament but I have been getting the last laugh when they're bounced early in the Big Dance.

Let's just hope that we rebound nicely on our Senior Day and take care of Va Tech. We have a chance to get 10 conference wins..which is something that hasn't happened since Kennedy was here (boy do I miss me some Pat Kennedy)

Anyway, the Seminole Baseball team didn't far so well against Jacksonville but we have a chance tonight to get back in the winning column against North Florida. I don't go the games but I can hear them from the Oaks outside the stadium so I'll probably do that this evening...or maybe go to Fermentation Lounge.

Also, don't forget our Women's Basketball team start their run for a conference championship by playing the winner of the BC-Miami game on Friday at 6pm. Our men's baseball team is playing Boston College but I think I might go watch our ladies. They need our support. Anyone wanna join me?

Until next time..

Big Test tonight

Hi.

Well, tonight is a big test for the FSU Men's basketball team as they face Duke on Senior Night. I think our guys are ready for the challenge, but we'll see how the refs handle this game. Even if we played a better game we're going to lose.

As far as our women...they're a number 2 seed going into the ACC tournament that starts tomorrow. I haven't checked the matchups but I think we're going to do well and I see us as at least a 4 seed in the women's NCAAs.

Well I'll be back after the game tonight with my thoughts.

Are we dancing yet?

Hi.

I haven't written in a while but watching the FSU basketball season and with 14 conference games played who would have thought we are tied for 3rd place? Coach Hamilton has done a marvelous job with such a young group of men that I honestly think he should be a candidate for coach of the year in the ACC. This will be only our second winning season in 16 years in the conference and our chance at a record we only achived during our second season of conference play.

With the two remaining games (Duke and Va Tech) we have a shot to finish in second place or no worse than tied for 5th. Depending on our ranking we could gain a first round bye in the ACC tourney which could easily gain us a 7 or 8 seed in the NCAAs.

I will post more after the Tuesday night Duke matchup with my thoughts of the ACC tourney and our seeding in the NCAAs.
