Finally

FINALLY! College football is less than a month away!

Who will come out on top? Will the media choose their darling this year and try to shove that team down people's throats? Of course they will. Will there be another "game of the century" between Big 10 powers....only to have those 2 teams demolished in bowl games a month or 2 later.

Anyway, what I care about is FSU football and what the Noles can do this year. Let's face it. Can there really be anything other than improvement this year?

After 6 years of mediocrity from the offensive side of the ball, FSU will enter the field this year with a new offensive coaching staff. Jimbo takes the reins at OC. This guy has been on of the more highly coveted OCs in the nation in the past few years. He brings an offense which can be explosive, and national championship experience.
What may be Fisher's biggest asset is the new offensive line coach. Now, I want you to think - when is the last time you've heard so many people so excited about an offensive line coach? Rick Trickett is THE MAN. This guy took what some D1 colleges considered undersized lineman and helped engineer the top run game in the country at West Virginia. This guy is tough as nails and will bring a toughness to an FSU offensive line that has been seriously lacking it in the last few years. Something tells me that we won't see our line fade this year. And it makes me glad to know that there will hell to pay if it does.
Now then, how else would you bring back the air of the "Dynasty" that FSU enjoyed? You surround your guys with those Dynasty Era players. Bobby did one step better. Two of those guys are coaching out running backs and wide receivers. Wide Receivers Coach Lawrence Dawsey was an All-American in college, and has been impressive as a coach. Dexter Carter is one of the first running backs in the Dynasty Era. Both have NFL experience, and Carter has an NFL Championship ring.

One of the bigger "gets" with coaching happened on the defense. LADIES AND GENTS...THE CHEST IS BACK! Say what you want, I like the guy. I think he brings a fire back that we are going to realize we have missed.

I'm not going to make predictions for this year, but I think the Noles will be better. OK, I'll say it. I think they'll be a lot better. My only real goal this year is to beat those dadgum Gators.
